Skycomp Charity Classic: In IT to win IT Highlights

Our Second Charity Golf Tournament was a HUGE Success

We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us at the Skycomp Charity Classic. It was a splendid day on the golf course, filled with camaraderie and charitable spirit.

On-Course Mini Games

Our golfers had a blast participating in interactive mini-games throughout the day. From the longest drive to closest to the pin, closest to the barrel, and even a unique challenge involving marshmallows, there was no shortage of excitement.

Registration & Breakfast

To kickstart the day, each golfer received a swag bag at registration. Inside, they found a cooler bag filled with golf essentials, wine tasting coupons, snacks, and even a Skycomp/Lenovo branded Yeti tumbler. After registration, it was time for a hearty hot breakfast to fuel up before teeing off at 10 am for a four-man scramble tournament.

18 Holes with a Cart

With the tournament in full swing, 27 teams hit the course, each competing for the coveted title of Skycomp’s golf tournament champions. Along the way, teams encountered a variety of engaging mini-games, offering fantastic prizes, including season tickets to the IceDogs 23-24 season, wine tastings, signed Toronto Maple Leafs memorabilia, gift cards, and more.

Dinner and Raffle Prizes

After completing 18 holes, teams returned to the clubhouse for drinks and dinner. During this time, we had moving speeches and the opportunity to hear a touching story from a family deeply impacted by the RMHCSCO. The highlight of the evening was the raffle prize announcement, featuring an array of fabulous gifts, from light-up party speakers to designer purses, outdoor gear, and even massage guns. Many left with fantastic prizes.

Four Man Scramble Winners

The inaugural champions of Skycomp’s Charity Golf Tournament were Brett Debastiani, Stefan Pernue, Matt Deegan, and Andrew Linwood. Each player received $100 in cash and the honour of holding the title. Remarkably, the winning team generously donated back their $400 prize to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The Impact We Made

Our tournament was not just about golf; it was about making a meaningful difference. We aimed to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Central Ontario, a cause close to our hearts. Thanks to our sponsors and generous golfers, we exceeded our $10,000 goal. This substantial contribution enables us to “Adopt-a-Room” at the Ronald McDonald House for a full year, providing 365 nights of stay for families in need. Additionally, we’re working with the McLintock family to dedicate the room in their daughter’s honour.

We’d like to acknowledge our sponsors, including Lenovo, our Title Sponsor, as well as Arcserve and Arctic Wolf Networks, our Gold-tier sponsors.
