Prepare for Windows 10 End of Support: What You Need to Know for a Smooth Transition

By now, you’ve probably heard that Windows 10 support is ending in a year. This means Windows 10 editions will no longer receive security updates, and customers contacting support will be directed to upgrade to stay secure.

What Does This Mean for You?

We’ve spent years working with computers, attending conferences, and speaking with Microsoft experts, so you don’t have to stress about the upgrade. Don’t rush to replace your device if it’s still running Windows 10; there are ways to check if your current hardware can handle Windows 11.

Windows 11 Requirements Checklist

  • Compatible 64-bit CPU, 1GHz+ / 2 cores with Secure Boot and VBS capabilities
  • Support for DCH driver model (99.8% crash-free experience)
  • Minimum of 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage
  • TPM 2.0 or later, UEFI with Secure Boot
  • DirectX 12 or later graphics with WDDM 2.0 driver support
  • Hardware that supports apps for teleconferencing, productivity, and entertainment

Devices Not Supported for Windows 11:

  • TPM 1.2 or lower
  • 32-bit CPUs
  • Devices with BIOS firmware only (no UEFI)

Upgrade Options for Unsupported Devices

If your device doesn’t meet Windows 11’s system requirements, here are a few options:

  1. Upgrade Hardware: Consider adding more RAM or updating the BIOS to enable TPM 2.0.
  2. Replace Devices: For devices that can’t be upgraded, consult with your device partner and plan replacements to stay compliant.
