Firstly we want to personally thank everyone who participated and donated to our 1st Charity golf Tournament. It was a beautiful fall day for a round of golf!
There were a a ton of interactive mini games on the course our players got to compete in. We had longest drive, closest to the hole, Happy Gilmour blind putt, closest to the pin, closest to the barrel, inflatable dart golf and longest drive with a marshmallow!
Registration & Lunch
To start the day off we gave each golfer their own swag bag at registration that contained a Skycomp/Lenovo cooler bag and inside it came with a pack of branded golf balls, chips, water, granola bar, a Triple Bogey tall boy and a Yeti rambler mug! Upon registering our golfer got a buffet style BBQ lunch. Once it hit noon it was a shot gun start for a four man scramble tournament!
18 holes with a cart
Now that the tournament was under way we had 24 teams on the course competing to win the first place prize and hold the honorable title of being Skycomp's first golf tournament champions! While on the course teams were met with a ton of interactive mini games like longest drive, closest to the hole, Happy Gilmour blind putt, closest to the pin, closest to the barrel, inflatable dart golf and longest drive with a marshmallow! These mini games came with awesome prizes like season tickets to the IceDogs 22-23 season, $50 dollar gift cards, hand knitted golf club covers plus a few bottles of wine and more.
Dinner and Raffle Prizes
Once all the teams completed their 18 holes they were welcomed back into the club house for drinks and dinner. During this time had a few speeches and announced the winners of the raffle prizes! There were a ton of great gifts to win like - a Lenovo ThinkBook 15, Contixo F22 Drone, Meta Quest 2 VR Headset, Soda Stream, Gas Patio Heater, Yeti Cooler, gift baskets and certificates, portable generator and so much more! A lot of people got to walk home with some great prizes at the end of the night!
Four Man Scramble Winners
Our first group of people to hold the title of Skycomp's Charity Golf Tournament winners is Brett Debastiani, Stefan Pernue, Matt Deegan, and Jeff Bentley! Each player got to walk away with $100 dollars in cash and obviously getting to rep that amazing title!
How much did we raise?
For this Golf Tournament we were helping to raise funds for the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre Niagara. With a Team primarily comprised of parents with young families at Skycomp, we feel especially connected to the Kristen French CACN cause and are greatful to have hosted this event in their honor.
With that being said we were able to raise over $16,000 dollars for the Kristen French CACN! With the help and generous donations from our sponsors and golfers we were able to surpass our goal of $10,000! We are so happy to be able to give 100 percent of the proceeds to the charity.
